At ScioTeq Avionics, we're looking for a Safety & Reliability Engineer to strengthen our RAMS team and contribute to innovative avionics programs that support customers worldwide.

This is a unique opportunity to combine engineering expertise, analytical thinking, and cross-functional collaboration in a highly specialized avionics environment.

Your responsibilities

As a Safety & Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for performing and coordinating Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS) activities throughout the development lifecycle of our avionics systems.

You will work closely with hardware, software, and system engineers to ensure our products meet the highest safety and reliability standards while supporting certification efforts and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • You develop and maintain Safety Assessment Reports (SAR and PSAR).

  • You perform safety analyses throughout the product development lifecycle.

  • You execute reliability predictions (RPR) to assess product lifetime and performance.

  • You analyse reliability data and recommend improvements.

  • You evaluate system reliability requirements and compliance.

  • You conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEA).

  • You assess potential failure scenarios and their impact on system performance and safety.

  • You collaborate with engineering teams to implement corrective and preventive measures.

  • You define and evaluate Built-In Test (BIT) concepts and diagnostics.

  • You support verification activities that improve system robustness and maintainability.

  • You contribute to the evolution of RAMS methodologies, standards, and processes.

  • You investigate new tools, technologies, and industry trends.

  • You work closely with Software, Hardware, and System Engineering teams.

  • You participate in technical reviews and multidisciplinary project discussions.

  • You support safety certification activities and audits.

  • You act as a trusted advisor on safety and reliability topics.

  • You report to the R&D Manager Hardware.

Job requirements

Profile

  • You hold a Master's degree preferably in Aerospace engineering, Electronics, Engineering Sciences, or a related technical discipline.

  • You have minimum 2 years of experience within safety engineering, reliability engineering, aerospace, avionics, or a related high-tech industry.

  • Your experience in a regulated environment is a plus, familiarity in aerospace safety standards and technologies is a strong asset.

  • You have a strong knowledge of Safety Assessment Reports (SAR/PSAR).

  • You have knowledge of Reliability Prediction (RPR).

  • You have knowledge of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).

  • You are familiar with Built-In Testing (BIT).

  • You have knowledge of ARP4754 and ARP4761 or you willing to learn. 

  • You have knowledge of – or is considered as a plus – the tools Winchill Risk and Relialibilty, Jama Connect. 

  • You combine a sharp analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail.

  • You tackle problems proactively and turn challenges into practical solutions. 

  • You are a team player who enjoys collaborating across disciplines.

  • You communicate confidently in English; Dutch is a nice plus.
