Junior GL Accountant

As a dedicated Junior GL Accountant, you will provide support to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks. You will contribute to accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closings. In addition, you will take on several responsibilities within the Accounts Payable (AP) process. You will work closely with your nice colleagues in a small accounting team and report to the enthusiastic Accounting Manager.

Your responsibilities:

• Posting and processing manual journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.

• Assisting in the preparation of our monthly and year-end closing process.

• Reconcile general ledger accounts and follow up on outstanding items.

• Assist in the preparation and submission of periodic statutory and statistical declarations, such as VAT returns, Intrastat, EC Sales Listings, Statbel surveys, and other regulatory filings.

• Assist with internal and external audits.

• Support the preparation of the annual financial statements.

• Assist with preliminary work for the corporate income tax return.

• Process incoming invoices and monitor approval workflows.

• Executing payment runs on a periodic basis.

• Communicate and follow up with other departments (such as R&D, Purchasing, Production,… ) to ensure accurate accounting treatment of investments.

• Review and assure timely payments of expense notes.

• Graduate in Accounting Administration or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

• Knowledge of VAT

• Knowledge of Belgian accounting standards (knowledge of IFRS accounting rules is a plus)

• Proficient in both written and spoken English and Dutch

• Good knowledge of MS Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus

• Accurate, analytical, and structured working style

• Hands-on mentality and eagerness to learn

• Team player with strong communication skills
