We are expanding our engineering team and are looking for an experienced mechanical design engineer who can join our team in Duluth, Georgia. Senior Mechanical Engineer

ScioTeq Rugged Computing products are designed to meet extreme operating environments governed by MIL STD and EN military specifications. The mechanics of the products must withstand substantial shock and vibration as well as provide thermal conductive cooling in a waterproof sealed enclosure to meet those requirements. These products are rarely sold as “off the shelf” products. Customers typically require customization for their specific applications and requirements. This often requires creative problem-solving, modular mechanical design approaches, and adaptable baseline designs. The Senior Mechanical Engineer has the following main responsibilities:

  • Mechanical design of enclosures for electronic system
  • Mechanical design implementation of customization requirements for customer projects
  • 3D documentation for technical specifications, user manuals, installation guides, interface control drawings, and production assembly drawings
  • Component evaluation and selection
  • Ensuring MIL-STD product qualification (temp, environmental, etc)
  • Troubleshooting and problem resolution for existing product issues
  • Research toward related emerging technologies

Job requirements

Qualifications

  • 6+ years related design experience
  • BSME required, MSME preferred
  • Complex mechanical designs for parts and products
  • Demonstrated aluminum enclosure design experience, milled and casted
  • Demonstrated Pro-E Creo/Windchill 3D design experience
  • Thermal management design experience
  • 3D printing or other prototyping experience
  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
